The Consequences of Environmental Toxins...

I'm Betsy's friend Adrienne, and I am writing this blog today about some issues I've had on my mind lately. I'm concerned that our environment is overly polluted to the point that there is no return to the way it was when we were younger.

If you look at the incidence of autism in the last couple of decades, the statistics are grim. Back when my son was diagnosed, the incidence was 1 in 1000 children, but now it is 1 in 160.  Many naturopathic doctors will tell you that autism is triggered by environmental factors, among others, including neurotoxins such as aspartame, which is a man-made chemical that should have been banned by the government, but was allowed to be processed in our foods because of heavy lobbying and greasing of congressional palms.  Another environmental trigger was the widespread use of DDT back in the 20th century. Today they have repackaged DDT, which was banned in the 1970's, into a new product called glycophol, which was produced by Monsanto, the biggest offender of all when it comes to producing chemicals that cannot be eradicated from the environment.  These chemicals cannot be extricated from our planet.  They should not be used and are causing many different medical conditions, including Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's and cancer among many others.

Here is the journal article from Dr. Kenneth Stoller, a board-certified pediatrician and health practitioner:  http://journalijcar.org/sites/default/files/issue-files/0151.pdf

Next week Betsy will discuss the death of her beloved father partially due to the consequences of being a tree surgeon and spraying with DDT.
